About

The Get Political project empowers young people to enhance their political literacy, engage in democratic processes, and foster active participation in local, national, and European political frameworks.

The Get Political project addresses the increasing disengagement of youth from political participation across Europe. With a focus on young people aged 15-30, the project aims to tackle barriers to political engagement by providing them with the tools and knowledge to navigate political systems effectively. By creating educational resources, training youth workers and educators, and facilitating active participation through direct engagement with political institutions, the project ensures that young individuals are equipped to influence and contribute to the political landscape. Through its wide-reaching activities, it aims to increase political knowledge and literacy, mitigate democratic disenchantment, and promote youth-led advocacy for political engagement.

The Municipality of Purchena
Municipality of Purchena

The Municipality of Purchena is a local public administration located in Eastern Andalusia, Spain. Our mission is to develop projects that tackle the challenges and lack of opportunities that rural youth, NEET youth and migrant young people face. We foster rural development and entrepreneurship through the implementation of employment and training plans for different age groups. To guarantee that equal access to opportunities in rural areas is met, we provide youth information services through the Purchena Youth Information Office, which facilitates easy access to information on job and education opportunities, scholarships, mobility grants, and health. We received the European Solidarity Corps Quality Label in 2023 and have been participating in Erasmus Plus projects (formerly Youth in Action) since 1993. Since 1999, our youth information services are also part of the Eurodesk Network. This network of over 1,600 information points (Qualified Multipliers) in 36 countries, informs young people about mobility opportunities and encourages them to become active citizens. Over the last four years, we have taken part in multiple EU-funded initiatives that have strengthened our presence in the cooperation sphere with several private and public organisations from the European Union and third countries. For better management of these projects, Purchena International Projects Office —PIPO, was created in 2024.
