Following its development, each partner organisation tested the guide by organising four local implementation workshops with young participants in their respective countries.

In Greece, the Municipality of Kalamaria implemented four interactive Political Peddy Paper sessions, engaging young participants in a dynamic learning experience centred on democracy, citizenship and active participation. Alongside the educational activities, participants had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the functioning of public institutions through a series of study visits. They visited the Ministry of Interior (Sector of Macedonia and Thrace), where they met with the Deputy Minister and discussed the role of public administration, youth participation and the importance of democratic governance. The programme also included a visit to the Kalamaria Town Hall, where participants were welcomed by the Mayor of Kalamaria and engaged in an open dialogue about local government, civic responsibility and the ways young people can contribute to decision-making processes within their communities. By combining interactive learning with direct engagement with public officials, the Greek implementation offered participants a practical and meaningful understanding of how democratic institutions operate at both local and regional levels.

The next step of the project brought participants together through international learning exchanges, including the mobility hosted in Athens. The programme offered young people the opportunity to experience democracy from both a historical and contemporary perspective. Participants visited the Hellenic Parliament to learn about the functioning of the Greek parliamentary system and the role of democratic institutions in modern governance. They also followed the “Path of Democracy”, exploring iconic sites such as the Acropolis, the Ancient Agora and Pnyx, where the foundations of democratic dialogue were established. In addition, meetings with civil society organisations and interactive discussions with peers from across Europe highlighted the importance of active citizenship, volunteering and youth participation in shaping democratic societies. These experiences not only deepened participants’ understanding of democratic values but also fostered intercultural dialogue, collaboration and a stronger sense of European identity.

Get Political is an initiative that empowers young people to become informed, active and responsible citizens, demonstrating that political literacy is best developed through participation, dialogue and shared European experiences.

By combining innovative educational tools with experiential learning activities, “Get Political” project helps young people better understand political processes, democratic institutions and the importance of..

[10

post-1827","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news
["GET
